Accessibility at DKB

For DKB, accessibility is more than a legal requirement. It is an integral part of our digital banking services, which should be available to everyone. We are constantly improving our applications to make them accessible. Our goal: our digital services should fully meet the requirements of the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at conformance level AA or better.

DKB services

DKB operates in the German retail banking market. We offer low-cost loan products and instant access savings accounts with attractive interest rates. As a purely online bank, we make it possible to apply for and use our products entirely digitally. Paper-based processes are only required in a few security-related areas, or exist as an alternative to digital processes.

The following information will help you use DKB's products. It was produced in line with the requirements of the German Accessibility Strengthening Act.

Here we explain the instant access and fixed-term savings products. You will find out how to open an account and how to use it.

How DKB makes its services accessible

Our goal: our digital services should fully meet the requirements of the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at conformance level AA or better. To that end, the bank is adapting its existing and new applications with the following steps:

Accessibility statement

This accessibility statement relates to DKB's digital services. We design our digital services to be accessible, as required by the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (BFSG). In doing so, we give people with disabilities in particular equal access on their own terms.

The requirements for this arise from § 3 BFSG and the associated regulation. They are based on standards such as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, conformance levels A and AA.

In doing so, we pay particular attention to making our digital services perceivable, easy to operate, understandable and robust.

Limitations on accessibility

Non-conformity with DIN EN 301 549

Certain content and functions in our application do not currently fully meet the accessibility requirements (WCAG 2.1 and BITV 2.0).

These issues are due to technical limitations. We are addressing them step by step through our accessibility improvement plan. Our aim is to resolve these points by the end of 2026.

How this accessibility statement was produced

This statement was produced on 27 June 2025 and last updated on 1 July 2026. It is based on an internal and external review of DKB's digital services.
